I recommend it first as for Enrico Pieranunzi's CDs

I recommend "deep down" or the "new land" for your first Enrico's CD.
Bassist is Mark Johnson who used to perform with Bill Evans. And the drummer is Joey Barron who is favorite of Enrico.

They plays standard numbers like "Every thing I love" and "Someday my prince will come".
It is also notable that TTT(Twelve Tone Tune), which is composition of Bill Evans, is played.
In addition, Enrico plays his composition named "Evans remembered".
These express his commitment to Bill Evans.

Three musicians in this trio have close interaction in their performance. Some time bassist or drummer plays as central player.

Enrico Pieranunzi doesn't have "bluesy" and "groovy" feeling that is unique to JAZZ.
Although his CDs are being sold as JAZZ CD, we should not think he is only JAZZ musician. His interest and talent covers more broad area.

The most impressive tune for me in this work is "Evans Remembered".
The beginning of this tune is piano solo in Rubato. But....The harmony in this rubato is extremely beautiful!!

The harmony is very thick and the single tone is clear and makes beautifully "drought" sound.
You must listen at least once in your life.
